About Clarksville Elite Land Clearing

A land clearing outfit that measures the disturbed acreage, answers the permit question before quoting, and writes the scope in method rather than adjectives.

Tell us the acreage, the road it fronts and what the ground has to do afterwards. Form requests are answered the same working day, and every quote follows a site walk.

Clarksville Elite Land Clearing clears ground in Clarksville, Montgomery County and the surrounding communities of Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky. That is the whole trade we work in. We are not a tree service that also owns a mulcher, and we are not a landscaper with a bush hog on the back of a tractor. The work is mulching, clearing, grubbing, stump grinding, grading, driveway and site preparation, erosion control and the debris handling that follows all of it.

The reason to state that narrowly is that land clearing in this county is more of a regulatory job than most people expect. What decides whether a job goes well is usually the thing nobody asked about: how many acres are actually being disturbed, whether the parcel touches a stream, what the soil does with water in March, and whether the roots have to leave.

What We Clear and How It Is Scoped

Every job starts with a site walk. We measure the area being disturbed rather than taking parcel size off a plat, because disturbed acreage decides which permits apply and it is often much smaller than deed acreage. We look at slope, at access for a trailer and a low-boy, at what is standing and how big it is, and we find the wet ground and any blue-line stream before pricing anything.

The scope that comes back names the method, the acreage, the debris route and the erosion controls. Forestry mulching and clearing and grubbing are the two ends of that decision and they are not interchangeable. Mulching grinds vegetation in place and costs less, but the roots stay alive. Grubbing takes the root mat out, which is the only correct answer under a slab, a septic field or a pond, and it sits in the highest cost band in the trade.

Line items are separated so a phase can be deferred. Clearing this season and grading next season is a legitimate plan on a multi-acre parcel, and we sequence the work so nothing done in the first phase is undone by the second.

The Regulatory Side, and Why We Lead With It

Soil disturbance above one acre in Montgomery County follows the county stormwater regulations and the state construction stormwater permit, and the plans have to be in before earth moves. Fees are charged per disturbed acre rather than flat. Utility locates through Tennessee 811 need at least three working days of notice under state law, and the marks are good for 15 calendar days. Debris burning is gated by a state permit season running mid-October to mid-May, with permits valid for the single day of the burn.

None of that is optional and none of it depends on which machine shows up. You will see claims in this market that a particular clearing method removes the permit requirement. It does not, because the threshold is measured in acres disturbed, not in method used. We would rather tell you that before you sign than after an inspector does.

Rules also change the moment you cross a line on the map. Four of the communities we serve sit in Kentucky, where none of the Tennessee figures above apply. Several more are Tennessee towns in neighbouring counties with their own codes offices. We check the jurisdiction for your parcel rather than assuming ours governs it.

Work We Turn Down, and Why

We will not quote a per-acre price over the phone and call it a quote. Density, slope and access move the number by multiples, and a phone figure is either padded or revised upward on the day.

We will not burn material that did not grow on the property, because Tennessee prohibits it. We will not mulch ground that is about to carry a footing and let a builder discover the roots later. We will not publish credentials, licence numbers, certifications or a project history that the people on your job do not hold. If a qualification matters, ask for it by name and check it against the issuing body's public register. That applies to every contractor you speak to, including us.

Coverage is Clarksville and sixteen surrounding communities, listed on the service areas page, and the scope list is on the services page. We are a service area business working from job site to job site, with no showroom and no walk-in office, which is normal for this trade and worth saying plainly.

Book a Site Walk on Your Acreage

Send the parcel details and we will walk the ground, measure the disturbed area, check the stormwater threshold and put a written scope in front of you before any machine is booked.
